I offer Clinical Supervision in Totnes, online and in groups. I work with counsellors, supervisors and other members of the helping professions such as teachers, social workers, occupational therapists and veterinary staff.  I am an accredited member of the BACP and follow their ethical code of practice. My counselling training was in Integrative practice and therefore I bring this theoretical perspective to my work as a Supervisor.

I started my working life and higher education as a Veterinary Nurse before retraining as a Counselling therapist. As a veterinary nurse I was trained to Degree standard at the University of Bristol and I  worked in general practice , emergency referral, as well as specialist referral centres (wildlife and Neurology) and Bristol Veterinary school.

Throughout my career so far as a counsellor and supervisor my experience has been very varied. I have worked and volunteered in higher education colleges ,  schools , specialist youth agencies and helplines. I worked with young people at Off the Record (Bristol) , The Isle of Wight Youth Trust and I was a counselling coordinator for Young Devon in Plymouth. Before my formal training I volunteered as a telephone counsellor at Bristol Crisis service for women (now Self Injury Support ).  I now work in private practice seeing both young people and adults.

I have experience of designing and delivering workshops to both young people , veterinary professionals and counsellors. I am passionate about counselling being a very human experience and psychoeducation for both young people, adults and teams.  I believe I bring these elements to my Supervision practice too. I have special interests in working creatively in practice, neuroscience , working with teams, working with schools and making counselling accessible for young people. I have experience of setting up, moving and maintaining a private practice and have interest and the experience of marketing and promoting counselling. I am experienced in supervising both groups and individuals,  qualified and student counsellors.

My hope would be that as a supervisor I can facilitate a space for you to feel supported , to develop as a therapist and to explore the processes and dynamics that you are experiencing. In my work I integrate the models and functions of Supervision explored by Hawkins and Shohet as well as newer models of practice such as the work of Els Van Ooijen. I am passionate about my supervisee’s getting the most out of their sessions, reducing isolation and equipping them with whatever it takes for them to feel able to support others and feel a sense of restoration in themselves.

Do get in contact with me if you would like an informal discussion about your current needs for supervision.

My sessions are £55 for a hours session or £75 for 1.5hrs.
